FAQ Related to Template changes

Last update: 09 July 2020, 16:00 (CET)

Overview

UbiComp / ISWC full papers need to be submitted in a single-column format to the IMWUT journal (IMWUT Submissions) following the IMWUT author guidelines. In contrast, contributions to UbiComp / ISWC workshops, doctoral symposium, posters, and demos as well as ISWC notes, briefs, and the design exhibition have to be submitted through the PrecisionConference system in the double-column format specified below in UbiComp / ISWC Submissions.

    UbiComp / ISWC Submissions
  • UbiComp / ISWC workshops, doctoral symposium, posters, and demos
  • ISWC notes, briefs, and the design exhibition
  • Double-column format, please follow the guidelines below

IMWUT Submissions

ACM requires all articles submitted to or published by IMWUT to follow the IMWUT author guidelines.

UbiComp / ISWC Submissions

ACM requires all UbiComp / ISWC 2020 submissions to use the ACM SIGCHI Master Article template with 2 columns. This applies to all submissions including adjunct proceedings (i.e. for UbiComp / ISWC workshops, DC, posters, and demos & for ISWC notes, briefs, and the design exhibition).

I was advised to use the ACM Extended Abstract format in the CfP email / website

The changes described here affect all UbiComp / ISWC 2020 submissions. If you are uncertain or have any questions, please contact the responsible chairs.

Where can I find the new template

The latest version of the ACM SIGCHI Master Article template can be found on this page or using one of the links below. Make sure to use the 2-columns template:

Additional information for LaTeX / Overleaf users

acmart.cls, the official ACM Master article template for LaTeX, consolidates 8 individual ACM journal and ACM proceedings templates. ISWC/UbiComp 2020 is going to use the ACM proceedings templates SIGCHI. Please ensure you are using the correct template by replacing

\documentclass[sigconf,authordraft]{acmart}

with

\documentclass[sigchi,authordraft]{acmart}

Additional information for Microsoft Word users

Microsoft Word users are currently advised to use these interim templates which provides the final layout for ACM articles, but do not have any of the functionality built in to capture accessibility and metadata tagging. Please download the interim word template. Please use the interim sample.pdf to double check your formatting.
