ISWC 2008 Reception:

Reception, Demonstrations, and Tour of the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC):
Monday, September 29th, 6 PM to 8 PM

Founded in the fall of 1998, the world famous ETC offers the only Master of Entertainment Technology degree based on the principle of having technologists and non-technologists work together on projects that produce artifacts that are intended to entertain, inform, inspire, or otherwise affect an audience/guest/player/participant. The masters degree is focused on extensive semester-long project courses.

This will be a very special evening in which we will be greeted by the ETC Director, mingle among ETC students as they explain their current projects and engage several of ETC's most famous projects including an interactive chat with Ben Franklin made possible through Synthetic Interview technology; verbally joust with Quasi, an animatronic silver robot, that heckles and engages you in conversation; explore the various stations on the bridge of a star ship; explore the History of Technology wall; and see and touch the inductees into the Robot Hall of Fame (R2D2, 3CPO, Maria of Metropolis (1927), and Gort of The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951).
