The Special Technical Community on Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies (STCWUT) includes researchers, designers, manufacturers, users, product vendors, and related professionals who share information and advances in technologies that are worn on the body and embedded in the environment. STCWUT is highly interdisciplinary, combining interests in novel interfaces, sensors, power, wireless networking, activity recognition, context awareness, textiles, systems, augmented reality, privacy, security, health, industrial design, user modeling, haptics, speech, social computing, fashion, and other areas that may help bridge the gaps between the digital and physical worlds for the user. The STC supports the Wearable Computing community on social media and is involved with the annual International Symposium on Wearable Computers (ISWC).
