AttendingISWC/UbiComp 2019 in London
Welcome to London
The UbiComp 2019 / ISWC 2019 workshops and main conferences will be held from 9th September 2019 to 13th September 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre (QEII Centre) in London, UK.
The QEII centre is located the very heart of London (Westminster), with Big Ben, Parliament, the London Eye and more a block or so away (many of the QEII rooms look out directly onto these landmarks).
The Queen Elizabeth II Centre
The Queen Elizabeth II Centre is the largest dedicated conference, events and exhibition space in central London and located in Westminster. The venue was opened by Her Mayesty the Queen in 1986 and has celebrated 30 years at the heart of London's event industry. Over the last 30 years, the Centre has established itself as a stage for game-changers, innovators and thought leaders across industries, politics and big brands.

Transportation to QEII Centre
QEII Centre is less than five minutes walk from Big Ben and the Thames, located directly opposite Westminster Abbey and a two-minute walk from a royal park. With over 6,000 hotel rooms in walking distance, this is the perfect location to benefit from holidng an event in London. The Centre is served by outstanding transport links providing easy access to everything London has to offer, and is within an hour's transfer from five international airports including Heathrow (LHR) and London City Airport (LCY).
London Underground
The QEII Centre is located in walking distance to the following Tube stations:
- Westminster for Circle, District and Jubilee lines: 6 minutes walk (access via lifts available)
- St. James's Park for Circle and District lines: 4 minutes walk (this station is not wheelchair accessible)
- Victoria Station for Victoria line: 14 minutes walk (access via lifts available)

Railway Stations
The following mainline railway stations are located near the QEII Centre:
- Victoria: 14 minutes walk
- Charing Cross: 12 minutes walk
- Waterloo: 18 minutes walk

Air Travel
London consists of a number of international airports:
- Heathrow (LHR): 47 minutes
- Gatwick (LGW): 44 minutes
- London City (LCY): 26 minutes
- Stansted (STN): 1 hour
- Luton (LTN): 47 minutes
Further airports also include Birmingham International (BHX) that can be reached via a direct railway link to London Euston station.
Ground transportation from London airports include National Rail busses, London Underground and National Railway. Suitable railway connections can be found and booked via nationalrail.co.uk.
