Posters Call for Participation

Call For Posters

Posters represent the cutting-edge of the ISWC/UbiComp 2017 program. Researchers are encouraged to use this venue as an opportunity to present their latest, cutting-edge research in progress, so that they may gain insight and feedback from the larger research community. Posters can cover preliminary or exploratory work within the field of ubiquitous and pervasive computing, report about smaller projects or results that are still maturing towards a full paper submission, or present any other research that would encourage discussion. Accepted poster submissions are not considered to be archival publications; presentation in this venue should not affect the ability for researchers to subsequently publish this work in an archival forum.

Poster Deadlines

  • June 9, 2017: Submission deadline
  • June 30, 2017: Notification of acceptance
  • July 14, 2017: Camera Ready Extended Abstract Due

Submission

The UbiComp poster submissions can be up to 4 pages (including all figures and references) using the SIGCHI Extended Abstracts template:

The review process will be single blind. Submissions must *NOT* be anonymized! Poster submissions should be submitted electronically through the UbiComp Online Submission System (PCS). Please make sure that your submitted abstract complies with all the formatting guidelines and is ready for publication if it is accepted; there will be no time to make major revisions. All accepted submissions will be included in UbiComp/ISWC 2017 adjunct proceedings and in the ACM Digital Library.

ISWC 2017 poster submissions should include: A 4-page extended abstract (for details about template and submission see the "Submission" section above). The abstract should describe the research ideas or results that will be presented at the conference and it should discuss the novelty and distinguishing ideas or approaches that it brings to the Ubiquitous and Wearable Computing community. The abstract should be self-explanatory, i.e., it must be understandable even without seeing the poster.
